Abi… and then what?

Seminar helps with choosing the right career and course of study

Bonn, 08.09.2011 An opportunity for Bonn pupils in the 11th and 12th grades: With two-day seminars called ‘Abi…and then what?’ during the autumn holidays, the educational foundation Stufen zum Erfolg shows how to succeed in deciding on a course of study and a career. Participation is free of charge. The Verlag für die Deutsche Wirtschaft AG is supporting the programme for the sixth time.

As the new school year begins, the Abitur comes closer and so does the question “What on earth should I study, or would it be better to do a vocational training first, or perhaps something completely different?”. Now is the time to apply proven decision-making strategies, so that the final sprint to the Abitur stays free of decision-making stress.

“What can I do?”, “What am I like?”, “What suits me?” are the starting questions. Steffi Adam-Bott, an experienced trainer, shows how to find the right answers to these in order to then develop possible perspectives for career and study. “I would never have come up with that on my own”, is the experience of Sabine, a former participant. “Sure, the decision is something you have to settle with yourself, but now I know how I can proceed”, is how Moritz sums up his experiences from the seminar.

After the seminar, everyone has developed two to three favourites for their career and study choice, feels more confident and knows which further steps are necessary. The Stadtschulpflegschaft Bonn was convinced by the programme. It recommends this useful complement to career and study guidance.
